AppleInsider recently confirmed rumours that Apple will use the Intel Woodcrest chip in the PowerMac's Intel-based successor.

The 64bit chip uses the Core technology from Intel and will be powered by a 1300Mhz front side bus. The new chip was actually recently announced with the commercial name Xeon 5100.

Apple is rumoured to be preparing the release of the Mac Pro line-up during this year's World Wide Developers Conference which takes place in San Fransisco in August.
