UPDATE: It appears that both iPod Touch and iPhone new software have already been hacked (jailbreak).

Apple has posted software updates for both the iPod Touch and the iPhone, bringing them to version 1.1.2.

The update brings battery charge indicator on iTunes, international TIFF exploit patch (no more jailbreaking) and keyboard to both devices. The iPhone also gets a custom ringtones section while the iPod Touch gets Calendar event edition.

According to first tests (MacRumors), Ambrossia's iToner - which allows the conversion of any sound file to a ringtone - still works with the iPhone.

The iPhone is scheduled for a launch in the U.K. and Germany as soon as this evening, queues have already formed near stores.
